(Most teenagers enjoy their occasional breaks from school, rare as they are. Kuroko isn't different in many ways. While in school, basketball has his full attention, leaving little room for his reading. He catches up during their brief breaks away from the school and lost in his books, the time passes quickly enough that he blinks and the seasonal vacation is over.
Things changed when he met Kagami. Their friendship and the fire that they share for basketball doesn't diminish enough to allow him the respite into his books. Instead, the calm Kuroko itches for school to begin and basketball to resume. The result is a very slow-moving vacation.
They'd agreed to meet for lunch and possibly find some way to spend the day after. Kuroko arrives first and orders his usual milkshake while he waits for Kagami. The one downside to his lacking presence is the burden of noticing before being noticed.)
