Meanwhile the redhead is waiting with surprising patience, and simply regards Lance's actions with what seems like stoic silence. In reality she's grateful for the break. Fighting while being bound thus is very frustrating, so the less of it she has to do the happier she is.

Waiting until he's stepped back before stepping forward herself, Starfire slowly stoops towards the trianglular shape with a barely hidden curiosity. ]

What is the- [ She begins, still in Tamaranean, but then sounding more and more clear with each moment. ] -purpose of this small device?

[ Lance, a little too automatically, snaps his fingers and finger guns at her. ] So you and me can do a lil' chit chat.

[ Uhhhh, let's make that lame gesture look like slightly more cool and holster those deadly finger guns. ] I'm one of the paladins of Voltron and I'm currently trying to figure out what happened to a Galran Ship in this sector. You know anything about it?

[ Based on the cuffs, he should have figured a lot sooner that she was involved but.... well. Let's just say this isn't Lance's brightest moment. ]

[ For a moment she actually looks surprised, and as she realizes she can understand him, and his intentions finally start to become a little more clear (strangely enough the finger guns actually helped, the gesture so strange and foreign and somewhat odd that she can't help but think he's at least a little bit harmless and dorky, with possible apologies to his ego). Finally, she allows herself to relax just a bit. To start with, her eyes finally lose their hostile glow, revealing...

Ah, well, they're still pretty inhuman, in color, but not in shape or size. Her body language and posture ease up slowly, straightening somewhat out of her coiled position. Even though those eyes have yet to leave Lance (the villagers are no threat to her, nor she to them so long as it remains thus) there's less of an edge to her tone when she speaks this time, if just marginally. ]

Voltron...? I have heard this name, but it is unfamiliar.

[ One thing she DOES recognize, however, is the "Galran" bit. Tensing again, she can't help but brace for the possibility of a fight, should it turn out he doesn't care for her answer. None the less when she speaks it she does so without fear or hesitance, not even so much as flinching. ]

I am what happened to their ship. I wished to leave. The Galra did not agree with my decision. I showed them the errors of their choice.

Dang, girl, [ First response to it all. ] That explains the cuffs. You did a number of that ship, lemme just say.

[ He pauses a moment, thinking. ] you mind if I come over to help with those cuffs? I can't unlock them but I can probably break them in half at least so you can move around.

[ "Did a number"...? She wants to ask which number he's referring to, but thinks better of it, priorities and all. When he offers to help with the cuffs, though, that sounds more her speed. She looks wary for a moment, but ultimately decides that he MAY be able to be trusted... ]

Very well.

[ She stands down, in a manner of speaking, at least losing some of the aggression in her stance and allowing him to approach. Whether or not she thanks him depends on if he's good to his word, in her mind. ]

Alrighty.... Hold your hands out like this? [ He leans in such a way to direct Starfire to push her arms away from her body and to the right. Assuming she'll abide by as much, he reaches back to his side to bring his bayard back out, quickly transforming into a gun. ] Okay, hold still and try not to sneeze!

[ He brings the muzzle of the weapon directly up to the center of the binds, a brief whirl picking up before the laser shoots out, breaking the lock. The machine, lacking it's primary components, loses its hold on her wrists and fall to the ground. He mutters to himself: ] Oh sweet, better than I expected. –I mean, Just as planned, [ he covers with a suave tone in his voice. ]

So, now that you're unbound in every sense... Might I get the name of the lovely lady before me?
